Press Release: Downtown Divas Go Red for Women’s Heart Health Month
On Thursday, January 28th at 5 p.m. at the Old Armory Steakhouse, the Downtown Camden Guild (DCG) will kick off “Women’s Heart Health Month” with the First Annual Downtown Divas Go Red for Women’s Heart Health to build heart health awareness amongst women, raise money for the American Heart Association (AHA), provide a time for women to socialize, and highlight downtown businesses.
The women of Camden and Kershaw County are reminded to wear red in support of heart health awareness.
Live entertainment and refreshments will be at the Old Armory Steakhouse at 514 Rutledge Street, the starting point for the evening. Ladies will have the opportunity to explore several downtown businesses with the chance to win a number of gifts and prizes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
KershawHealth will be providing blood pressure checks, body mass index testing, diabetes/heart disease education and demonstrations of our fitness classes at Vincent Sheheen’s campaign headquarters on Broad Street throughout the night. The night will culminate from 7 p.m. to 8 p. m. with guest speaker Heather Hoopes Matthews, prizes, and more.
Event t-shirts and tote bags will be available for sale at locations throughout downtown for $15, benefiting the AHA and DCG. Also, Diva Hearts will be available at local businesses for a $1 donation benefiting the AHA throughout the months of January and February.
Parking downtown has been reserved for the event and the Camden Police Department will be on patrol to ensure a safe and secure evening for all.
